When we are young we hear many things about God.
Mostly we hear that God is harsh and touchy and that He punishes us and judges us.
But "All go to God when they are sorely placed." (Deitrich Bonhoffer hymn)
When we are desperate we start praying.
Ideally this will give us confidence to establish a relationship with God.
And if we do this through prayer, study, and contemplation we find that God loves us.
That in fact God is not harsh and touchy at all.
God is Love.
And "What you seek seeks you." (Rumi)
God wishes to establish a relationship of trust and love with us.
And so we need not be afraid.
We need not hold back or hesitate out of fear.
Love God and love your neighbor.
This is Good News.
