Life.

Our education teaches us that our world is mechanical.

God may be real but He is far away.

Our experiences teach us fear.

And fear buries the soul beneath ramparts of defense.

All this takes place before we become conscious of ourselves and the world around us.

And so we identify with the fortress we have constructed to defend ourselves.

Cynicism, resentment, anger, and hate rule our lives.

Until we find love.

Love reconnects us with our soul.

For it is from this Divine Spark that love originates.

But when our love is rejected we become self-destructive.

And this suffering can intensify our negativity.

    

But when we follow Jesus' instruction to love God and love our neighbor we find love in our own hearts.

And we find that our love is requited.

Then we begin to see God all around us.

The life of the plants and trees.

The life of animals and birds.

The life in the seas.

The Divine Spark in all living beings.

The gentle wind.

The warmth of the Sun.

The vast expanse of the night sky.

And we are Home.
