It is our responsibility to show men and women the way to God.
So that at least they are heading in the right direction.
In this we will be directly contradicting what they are being told by the media and the entertainment industries.
Rather than money, fast cars, nasty sex, filthy, wicked, materialism, power and status we will be emphasizing the things of God: people, love, compassion, forgiveness, non-violence, moderation, charity, equality, and the common good.
These are the characteristics which point to God.
Through prayer, contemplation, and study we can experience God for ourselves.
But first we must practice the commandments of Jesus:
"'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.'" Matthew 22:37 (NRSV)
"'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.'" Matthew 22:39b (NRSV)
"'Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you.'" Luke 6:27,28 (NRSV)
If we do this we will be following in the footsteps of Jesus which lead directly to God.
