Good News.

The good news that Jesus proclaimed - the forgiveness of sins, the healing of the sick, the new covenant with God - was a direct challenge to the established religious authorities of the time who taught morality and severe punishments.

After Jesus' death the new authorities returned to the doctrines of original sin, universal condemnation, and judgment.
This was hardly good news.

It would seem that the conservative establishment - the bishops and the founding fathers of Christianity - were more interested in subjugating the masses than liberating them.

So the new teachings of Progressive Christianity - unconditional love, a healthy attitude towards sex and the body, inclusiveness, tolerance, and freedom of thought - could suffer the same fate as the teachings of Jesus if we are not vigilant.

The good news of Progressive Christianity must be preserved from any new authorities who may seek to hijack the new paradigm.

It should be made perfectly clear that we do not wish to return to the negativities of the past.  Nor do we wish to adopt any new negativities that they might dream up.

Once we are liberated we must stay that way!
