In Emily Bronte's 1847 novel Wuthering Heights Cathy and Heathcliff rebel.
This means that they reject God and good and turn to the devil and evil.
And this is despite the fact that it has dire consequences.
So why did Kate Bush choose this as the theme for her debut single?
There can be only one answer.
She had rebelled herself.
And this is the blueprint for many rock stars.
They turn to the devil and evil.
And they deceive their fans.
Many follow the teachings of Aleister Crowley.
Crowley was an early 20th Century black magician and Satanist who taught them how to make pacts with the devil.
His catch-cry "Do what you will" was the source of the 1960s slogan "Do your own thing".
But the Baby-Boomers refuse to believe that their rock heroes are evil.
They are all in denial.
But it doesn't stop there.
Rock dogs and divas do this today.
They push pleasure and evil.
And they deceive their fans.
A mask of popular culture disguises their true nature.
But the evil they do remains.
