Our great-grandparents massacred and dispossessed the Aboriginal people of Australia.
Our grandparents and our parents were responsible for stealing their children and destroying their culture.
The Church was responsible for abuse that took place in its institutions.
As the white European inheritors of these crimes we must acknowledge culpability.
We are sorry.
And we ask your forgiveness.
We must also be prepared to listen to any Aboriginal people who tell us of problems that exist in our society today.
And we must be prepared to act to rectify them.
