Devolution.

When we talk about a religious revival in the 21st century we are not just talking about winding the clock back to the 1950s and recreating Christendom.

We cannot go back to the faith of the past.

The world only spins forward.

What Progressive Christianity does is not merely dressing up the old theology in new clothes it is devolving our faith to its source - the beliefs and teachings of the historical Jesus.

No longer will the Church be the religious arm of the conservative establishment (as it has been since Christianity became the state religion of Rome.)

No longer will Christ be a human blood sacrifice for our sins.

No longer will Christ be the remedy for the Original Sin of a mythological Adam and Eve.

No longer will we be threatened with hell.

But we will be saved and sustained by the unconditional Love of God.
