God gently nudges us in the right direction.
He suggests and hints.
Then He withdraws and leaves a space.
This space is there for us to grow into.
To put into practice what we have learned.
The greatest thing we learn is to love.
To give love is its own reward.
What is the purpose and meaning of life?
To give and receive love.
Love God and love your neighbor.
Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.
All else flows from this :
If we love those around us we will treat them justly - i.e. not according to status, power, or privilege.
We will be generous and forgiving, sensitive and compassionate.
We will not oppress others (the poor or the wicked).
Neither will we ignore their pleas for help.
Love one another.
This is the great commandment.
