The Forgiving One.

What we see in the Koran is what we see in the Old Testament :
God is compassionate and merciful but.....

The prophets seek to apply conditions to God's love.
They fear that sinful humanity will not do God's will without punishments.

This attitude results in prophecies of the Judgment, the End Times, and the Last Day.

None of this is true.

There is no Judgment, no End Times, no Last Day.

"'Why do the wicked live on, reach old age, and grow mighty in power?  Their children are established in their presence, and their offspring before their eyes.  Their houses are safe from fear, and no rod of God is upon them.'"  Job 21:7-9 (NRSV)

There is no evidence that God punishes us at all.
Why would this be different after death?

In Indian philosophy we are exhorted to non-violence, ahimsa = harmlessness.

Why would God tell us to practice non-violence if He was violent Himself?

Therefore, as there is no punishment, there can be no hell (which is eternal punishment).
