Reconciliation Day.

Today is Australia Day.

But to Aboriginal people it is Invasion Day.

So perhaps we should scrap January 26 as our national holiday.

Just leave it as Invasion Day.

And start a new day of reconciliation.

The date could be worked out between the First and Second peoples of this country.

And so the friction of January 26 would be replaced by a spirit of goodwill.

Save Me!

Can economics save you, or money, or market values?

Can possessions save you, or real estate, or materialism?

Can knowledge save you, or sacrifice, or penance?

Only one thing can save you.

And that is Love.

Love answers all questions.

Love meets all needs.

Love casts out all fears.

Love is the universal panacea.

And Love is the nature of God.

Corporate Christianity.

Why do Fundamentalist Christians ally themselves with rich corporations?

The only answer is that it is a political alliance.

Rich corporations are conservative politically because the conservative political parties favor business.

They enforce deregulation of the economy, tax cuts for the rich, and they bust unions.

This suits the corporate plutocrats. 

And an alliance with conservative Christians justifies their crimes.

The blessing of the Church whitewashes their corruption.

And money, of course, is always a motivating factor.

So be wary of Churches that preach Prosperity Theology.

They have sold out.

And their theology is bankrupt.

Musclemen.

Musclemen are unfairly targeted by Satanists in the sex media.

They seduce their egos and corrupt their morals.

And they try to turn them and their admirers to the devil.

This is unsolicited propaganda.

And it is entirely unwelcome.

But musclemen are also idolized by gay men.

To us he is the ultimate lover.

The object of our deepest desire.

And so we are vulnerable to these Satanic suggestions.

But at the heart of our desire is an overwhelming love.

A love that wishes goodness and good fortune upon him.

My prayer is that God will send angels to save him and all the gay men who admire him.

Heart of Flesh.

"I will remove the heart of stone from their flesh and give them a heart of flesh,"  Ezekiel 11:19 (NRSV)

A heart of stone is a heart paralyzed by fear.

A heart whose love is locked within walls of stone, feeling nothing.

But a heart of flesh is a human heart.

A heart that sees the humanity of all people and feels love and compassion.

The Heart.

"For the Lord does not see as mortals see; they look on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart."  1 Samuel 16:7 (NRSV)

This means that God perceives the condition of our hearts.

And the heart has two qualities:

Love and Compassion.

And so we see God's favor bestowed on those who have great love and those who have great compassion.

Death.

Death is no thing.

Death is not a state, nor is it a realm or a kingdom.

Death is not a condition, nor is it a force or an energy.

Death is an idea.

It derives from Iranian Dualism which states that life is the result of the interplay of a positive creative force and a negative destructive force.

And this idea filtered down into Judaism during the Persian Empire.

But death is not a reality.

There is only Life!

And there is only God.

There is no devil, no evil angels, no dark forces, no evil spirits.

These are ideas, concepts, theories, myths,

In the end they are nothing.
