In the Valley of the Kings the ancient Egyptians buried their rich and powerful.
They embalmed their bodies in order to preserve them and filled their tombs with worldly treasures and possessions in the hope that they would enjoy them in the afterlife.
This is the Egyptians trying to take their wealth with them.
But Jesus said of the rich fool who stored up worldly treasures in his barns* that his soul would be required of him that very night and whose would all those things be?
Give up your quest for worldly wealth.
Give to the poor.
And store up treasure in Heaven.
