Commandments.

I personally do not have any problem with the 10 Commandments.

But there is nothing in the text to indicate that there is any punishment for falling short.

And the passage that Jesus refers to in Leviticus states: "You shall not take vengeance or bear a grudge against any of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself." Leviticus 19:18 (NRSV) 

So Ronald Reagan's revenge against the Hippies was in contravention of God's Law.

And Jesus injunction says: "'You have heard that it was said, "You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy."  But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be children of your Father in heaven.'"  Matthew 5:43,44 (NRSV)

So the hate that Fundamentalists show to gays and lesbians is specifically denounced by Jesus. 

If Fundamentalists obeyed these commandments most of the conflicts in our world would be resolved.
