Generation X.

     

People have always turned to the devil as an alternative to God.

But never before has a whole generation turned to the dark side.

Generation X delights in the darkness.

They wear all black.

And they call themselves bad.

They invoke "pure evil".

And many of them have turned to Satanism.

But their evil violence and hate is whitewashed by the Religious Right who have sided with them for political reasons.

And they make terrible Christians.

They are judgemental, violent, and hateful.

They believe blatant lies.

And they persecute gays and lesbians.

They "loved the darkness rather than the light because their deeds were evil."  John 3:19 (NRSV)

So the answer is to look to the light.

Jesus is "'the light of the world.'"  John 8:12 (NRSV)

And God is Good.

God is compassionate, forgiving, and merciful.

But most of all:

God is Love.
