Happiness.
The Dalai Lama says that the purpose of life is happiness.
But my experience is that the more you pursue happiness the more it slips away from you - like a mirage.
Certainly if you seek happiness in material things you will be richer materially but you will lose contact with your own soul.
We are happier with less.
The purpose of life is love.
Or more precisely to learn how to love.
Happiness is a side effect.
The way of the heart leads to both love and compassion.
This is the light of the Buddha and of Jesus.
