AIDS is Over (in Australia).
Medical authorities in Australia have announced that AIDS is no longer a public health issue in Australia.
The anti-viral drugs used to treat the HIV virus are able to stop the virus developing into AIDS.
So as long as people are tested for the HIV virus it can be stopped.
They said that the only people who get AIDS now are people who have not been tested for the HIV virus and it has already developed into AIDS.
This number is now so small that it is no longer recorded.
So it's over for us.
Australia is one of a handful of countries who have beaten AIDS.
The end is in sight.
