If we enthrone the heart above all other things we will automatically make concessions according to understanding.
This means not rigidly applying the rules.
To make rules and enforce them with rewards and punishments is Legalism.
And it was this Legalism that Jesus criticized in the Pharisees and Sadducees.
But what is our law if we don't apply the rules?
Our law is Love.
And Love is its own reward.
