Degradation.

I saw a television documentary about a photographer who recorded the lives of her friends in the 1970s.

I recognized much of the scene from that period.

But what struck me was the squalor and degradation in which we lived.

The objective lens of her camera showed what this must have looked like to others.

Many were drug addicts and the daily rituals and habits which were exhibited were quite shocking.

Much of this derived from the rock music we were constantly listening to and the promiscuous sexual practices which it promoted.

Since I have sworn off rock music I have re-discovered a dignity and purity which I had lost.

I owe my life, my health, and my well-being to God.

  1. Before we were born of God,(born again), we were enemies of God,(in our minds). We were rebellious in every way. Now that we are Children of Our God, we Want to please Him. Hoping He smiles, maybe a good belly laugh. :) We are thankful that we lived long enough to finally choose Him. not aware that He actually chose us....I don't think all rock and roll music is bad. There are some love songs that are I believe, Divinely inspired. All of My Love, for instance by Led Zeppelin. "Yours is the cloth , mine is the hand that sows time, love is the force that lies within...." really, really amazing lyrics!! and how about Roll with the Changes by REO Speedwagon, "so if you're tired of the same old story , oh turn some pages. I will be here if you are ready, to roll with the changes". I think Jesus could say those exact words to someone who is getting tired of the same old stuff and He is there when they are ready for a change. How about Open Arms, by Journey....."So now I come to you, with open arms, nothing to hide, believe all i say, so here I Am, with open arms, hoping you'll see, what your love means to me, Open Arms" WOW!!! Jesus had open arms, He still does. I know you are a writer, so words are very important to you. To me as well. I listen very carefully. I thank God that i don't degrade myself anymore either. God bless you Michael East :)
