At a meeting of the Progressive Christian Network of Victoria, in response to the speaker's words about God intervening in her life, Lorraine Parkinson said that help had come from God "when called upon".
This was significant.
It was consistent with my own experience.
Nothing happened until I called upon God in distress.
Then there was an answer.
This may happen in order for it to be clear that it is God responding to the cry for help.
And this may bring us into relationship with God.
People who experience a hint or a nudge in the right direction, perhaps a warning, may already be in relationship with God.
This is my experience.
God responds "when called upon".
