Harmless?

When I tell people that there is Satanism in rock music, sports, and entertainment they often think it doesn't do anything.

It is one thing to recognize skulls, spider webs, and flames as Satanic, it is another thing to understand what they do.

Satanism is not harmless. 

Sex and drugs and rock and roll ruined a whole generation.

It leads to degradation, addiction, mental illness, and suicide.

And the death which is represented by skulls and black etc. is the death to God  described by St. Paul.

"the wages of sin is death."  Romans 6:23 (NRSV)

The purpose of Satanism in our culture is to inspire sin which they believe will lead to death and hell.

So be warned!

Satanism is not harmless.

The Soul.

When a person dies a light goes out of the body.

This light is the self that is the soul that lives in the heart.

It does not die but goes to God - the Lord of Love.

And so we should not fear but have total trust in the Lord of Love. 

We are loved.

And we are cherished by the Lord of Love.

Be devoted to that love.

And trust in Him.

Only God can save us.

Darkness.

Republican attempts to ban black history and any references to gay or transgender issues in schools is an attempt to keep people ignorant.

Because ignorant people are easier to control.

They are more likely to believe lies and misinformation.

And that suits the Republican Party.

But deliberate attempts to keep people in darkness are evil.

They are not in keeping with the Will of God - who is Light.

So efforts to inform people and educate them about the past and present issues are to be commended.

They are excellent manifestations of Light.

Colorado Springs.

The shocking news this morning of the mass shooting at the gay Club Q in Colorado Springs is a grim reminder that virulent homophobia is still a problem in our society.

And unfortunately this is fed by misguided religious people who persist in their condemnation and judgement of gay people.

How long will it take to overcome this fear and hatred?

How long will they continue to justify violence and murder?

And make no mistake they are wrong!

God does not condemn homosexuality.

Neither does He judge us.

God loves his gay children.

And we will all go to Heaven when we die.

Jesus.

Once  we realize that there is evil in our world and wish to oppose it but do not wish to use violence or force there is only one answer.

And this is the non-violent non-cooperation of Jesus.

Violence is never the answer.

So the example of Jesus is paramount.

And if we follow this example we will find that God protects us.

We must lay down the sword.

Because violence begets violence.

Ahimsa (non-violence) is a vital part of Eastern Religion.

And it is in tune with the message of Jesus.

Hippie Spirituality.

Contrary to the beliefs of Conservatives Hippies practise a form of Spirituality.

This Spirituality entails: Peace, Love, and Non-Violence.

It is non-materialistic and unselfish.

But this Spirituality was betrayed by rock stars pushing sex and drugs and rock and roll.

And Generation X blamed and shamed us.

Conservative politicians and media moguls reconstructed us.

And now we shop, watch, and holiday.

But times change and now is the time to resurrect Hippie Spirituality without the corrupting influence of rock music.

Peace, Love, and Non-Violence.

And unselfish non-materialism.

Spiritual but not Religious.

People who say they are Spiritual but not Religious are basically in the right place.

By Spiritual they mean they do not subscribe exclusively to the world's materialism and acquisitiveness.

And by saying that they are not Religious they mean that they think that Church people are judgemental, intolerant, and prejudiced.

And basically they are right.

But when it comes to articulating what that Spirituality entails they are much more vague.

And so they are not protected against the negative forces which lurk in our culture.

And they are not firm in the direction they must take.

It may be valuable to think about what Spirituality means in a positive sense.

And engage in prayer as a path to God.
