A Tall Order.

So, while abuse is real and we should never condone it, the Church must be seen to be doing something about it.

This applies also to the ordination of women, married priests, the acceptance of gays and lesbians in marriage and leadership, and the end of sex-phobic theological positions based on the Old Testament and the writings of St. Paul.

But the Church is dragging its feet.
Many even resist change.

So will Progressive Christians break away and form a separate Church?
It will still be a Church so it will face the same problems.

Will change come quickly enough?

Not at this rate.

But there is a glimmer of hope.

God is doing a new thing.

It is mostly on the internet, not on pews in churches.

We will have to wait and see.

The Church.

The Church has an image problem.

Within the Church all is goodness and light.

Outside the Church the institution is bankrupt.

So while we pat each other on the back and congratulate each other on how good we are nothing will happen.

The Church will die.

We have to face the fact that the general public does not share our view of the Church.

The general public hates the Church.
And they actively seek its destruction.

This can be seen in the glee with which they receive each new allegation of child sex abuse and the attempts of the hierarchy to cover it up.

This is fed by dark forces in our society.

It is magnified and spread.

So until we learn how to counter these forces we will never be able to stop the slow death of the Church.

Triple Treat.

Hate is contagious.

"Why? Why? Why?"  scream the headlines.

Why would God allow this to happen?

Burn down the mission!

Bring down the Patriarchy!

We actively seek to destroy the Church.

But we don't know why.

Our hatred is fed by rock music, spread by the media, justified by atheists.....

We want the Church dead!

Then we will be free!

This is unconscious patricide.

Is this really what we want?

Time will tell.

Double Trouble.

Not only does the Church get the blame for suppressing sex but the sex abuse scandals double the blame causing people to reject the Church as an evil institution.

This is reinforced by fundamentalist homophobia and hate.

So the Church is far from people's hearts and minds.

It is bankrupt literally and spiritually in the minds of the public.

No one wants it.

"Don't they need God?"  you ask.

They may, but if they do they don't look for Him in the Church, they seek Him in meditation, tarot cards, mythology, goddess worship, even witchcraft.....

Unfortunately these individual attempts are prone to interference from the dark forces around us in society.

They are doomed to failure.

So don't think that the Church is well thought of in society.

It is not.

And God is not there.

What the forces of darkness are doing is pushing the idea that all sex is evil then pointing the finger at the Church so God gets the blame.

This makes the devil desirable.
The devil is more sensible than the Church (God).

Also they straighten gay people, again pointing the finger at God's Church.

This makes the devil, even hell, preferable to God.

This is done in the popular culture- rock music, movies, T.V. etc. - on an unconscious level so that we barely register what we are seeing.

Flames, skulls, spider webs, death, darkness, tongues, sex, the sign of the devil.....

All these things are there to be seen.

But humanity is in denial.

There is no devil after all.

No.

But there are people - rock stars and celebrities - who believe in the devil and have sold their souls for fame and fortune and the perfection of their art.

They believe in magic and create spells which make us sin and transgress.

But this is not magic it is unconscious propaganda.

Look at the symbols and images in the videos and music, in the movies and books.....

What is the unconscious effect that it creates in your mind?

Bring this up to the surface and ask, "What is the motivation for this?"

You may be surprised.

The Third Man.

When we talk about conflict in our society we talk about the two factions - Liberalism (Uranus) and Conservatism (Saturn) - which rule the astrological sign of Aquarius.  But we must realize that there is a Third Man.

This is the influence of Satanism (Pluto) in our culture.

It is hidden in our popular culture - rock music, reality T.V., movies, books, sports.....

This Third Man sows schisms, lies, anger, violence, darkness, evil, and death.....

So whenever we address conflict in our society we must take into account the activities of the Third Man.

Pop Psychology.

Pop psychology is not spirituality.

In fact pop psychology is not even yoga or Buddhism.

So called New Age gurus talk about meditation and motivation but they have not experienced self-realization or enlightenment.

It is all about success in the world and getting what you want out of life.

But this is not spirituality.

Selfish gain is not the purpose of life.

Life is about love.

Give love.

And you will be on your way home.
